Bahar Oomad (2022)
Bahar Oomad (meaning spring is coming) is originally a folklore from Iran, here a remastered envisioned and produced by Shervin Hajipour. This collaboration came about in envisioning an aerial dancer, representing freedom of dance and movement, coupled with movement of nature representing cycle and hope.
This piece is about hope, it’s about the day after Iran becomes free, it’s about a normal life - it’s about art under no censorship. Here’s to women of my country, here’s to the men who have stood by them, here’s to every single person who has been a part of this. Here’s to a tomorrow that is bright, and a day that is coming. Here is to “woman, life, freedom” ✊🏼
